Peter Corn was born in Amsterdam, 1966. The youngest kid in the family Peter was raised with Blues & Soul music by his brother and two sisters who were big fan’s of Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, Johny Lee Hooker, The Beatles, All Green, Wilson Pickett and Marvin Gaye. All artists which became a big influence on Peter’s composing & singing style and guitar playing. When Peter first started composing he for a short while joined in with the punk scene but then choose for his real love, composing and singing rock, blues and soul songs. One of the few ever Soul bands in Amsterdam playing their own material and were successful doing it. They did opening shows at the Paradiso Amsterdam for Solomon Burke and Wilson Pickett and Peter and lady singer Lucretia vd Vloot were soon asked for radio en tv performances doing Vara’s Pop Paper and Clip Parade. In 1992 Peter formed his own Peter Corn Band. The band combined rock with soul and blues and gospel and did the opening show for Maceo Parker at the Paradiso Amsterdam. They were successfully in the Dutch touring circuit and were well known in the Amsterdam Rock scene. Soon Peter was asked for tribute shows for artists such as Chuck Berry and Marvin Gaye where he sang his own version of Abraham Martin and John and did a thrilling duet, Ain’t nothing but the real thing, with Lucretia vd Vloot.After a quite period due to some personal problems Peter then In 2002 came with his first solo album Soul Enough which contains a mixture of Soul and Jazz Songs, recorded with fine Dutch musicians from the jazz scene.Then he had another quite period but now is back on the front with his latest album Tender Surrender, to appear start of 2007, on which he got the help of Producer Hans Eijkenaar & Meg and another group of great Dutch Musicians.'I,m happy to share my songs with everybody who loves rock and soul music!'
