Paddy Gibney, singer/songwriter/guitarist originally from Dublin, Ireland, is teamed up with Bill Ayerbe, a classically-trained violinist/fiddler from Jersey City, New Jersey. They are currently based in Fayetteville, North Carolina and are playing to packed houses in the Carolinas.
Their music spans a very wide range including Paddy Gibney originals, moving ballads, rock, ribald pub songs, and Irish traditional songs. The pub songs, notably The Friendly Little Cat, Alice, Seven Drunken Nights, Barnacle Bill, Wild Rover, etc, draw a very large following from the local college community and from the military community at nearby Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. Their fan base is now extended worldwide due to the connection to these installations.
They have 3 CD albums to their credit and also 1 CD single and 1 audio cassette tape. Their second CD album - Live, Love, Now - is all original songs written by Paddy Gibney. The CD single, Diana, is also an original song written by Paddy Gibney. All proceeds from the Diana CD are donated to the British Deaf Association. The remaining 2 CD albums, Live at the Radisson and One Drunken Night, and the cassette tape, Live at the Shanakee, are live recordings.
