Ouija Radio
Band Biography

  • From: Minneapolis, MN
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 1996

“The city is alive tonight. Everybody's alive tonight. The moon is high in the sky. The airplanes are flying by and I am still alive!”Lyrics by Christy Hunt(Taken from the brand new full length Ouija Radio album titled “Last Night on Earth”)The fantasy and magic of life is what makes Ouija Radio so unique. Crafty songwriting, a dose of witchcraft, the intrigue sex appeal, and a tremendous amount of rock action are the elixirs for this potent cocktail. This is not your average power pop rock band! There are ten songs on “Last Night on Earth” and none of them are “filler”. Ouija Radio have identified themselves as a powerful female fronted rock group that isn't afraid to delve into a little spellbinding to get the job done. With singer/songwriter/guitarist Christy Hunt using the equation of sexy + witchy + cool = rock out action, Ouija Radio is ready to take the world by storm. Known for their live shows rooted in the Amphetamine Reptile rock scene of yesterday, Ouija Radio is taking a bold new approach to songwriting. Christy Hunt states, “People would first see our band with a hot girl singer and assumed that we would be drab, until we rocked their world. Nevertheless, I was tired of writing songs that are only respected by musicians. Now we have songs that can be used for a concept album and still rock your ass off”!Lyrically speaking, Ouija Radio finds themselves on the other side of the sky. Their love for witchcraft, surrealism, and sex appeal comes true on songs like “Eye of the Storm” with otherworldly poetry like, “I climbed the legs of human anatomy/In a landscape painted by Dali/It was my place of birth unlike any on this earth/An endless enigma has just become a woman”. They take these sensations one step further by bringing the audience to a party with the after life in “Old Victrola” by chanting, “Cheers to the geriatric audio/I'm tight with the ghosts in the radio/I'm channeling them in through the victrophone/We're gonna turn the mono into stereo.”On this album, their sophomore full-length, Ouija Radio has cast quite the spell! “Last Night on Earth” is here to enchant all! Watch for Ouija Radio to come to your town and make some magic happen!
