Oddjob was formed back in about 1995. Since then, the band has been molded to create the 5 piece that Oddjob is today. Jeff Newman (bass)and Dustin Lovell (drums) are the only two original members. Not long after they started, they got rid of their old guitarist and picked up Steve Savas (guitar), for his fast ripping solo abilities. After about a year, they realized they needed to get rid of their signer, so they got Mike Bender (vocals). Oddjob's latest change came about a month ago, when they added Brad Lamon (guitar/backing vocals) to get that thick two guitar sound, and to strengthen the melodies with some live backing vocals.
Throughout Oddjob's history, they were always playing shows, mainly around Clearwater. The places that have seen the most Oddjob shows are like Central Skate Park, and the Refuge. Right now, Oddjob would like to spead out around Florida. They have a new 3 song demo which is on MP3.com and their website. They feel that they have mastered their live preformances, and they are ready for further exposure.
Oddjob's music is a very experimental type of punk. The majority of Oddjob majored in music in high school. They take knowledge of all kinds of music (classical/jazz) and mix it with the fast energy of punk. The pruduct is a very original, technical, but melodic form of music.
If any clubs, anywhere around Florida would like to book Oddjob, we would be more than willing to play, (under most circumstances). Just get in touch with us by our e-mail address.
