Oliver Brighton was established in 1981 by Jeff Crossman and David Randolph. Over the past 19 years many musicians have taken part in what the band is today. Oliver Brighton has developed into a tight, song oriented machine. At the moment...Brighton is a strong power trio performing in the clubs and bars of Eastern Maine. They have honed their skills and become a driving song writing entity
With Crossman on drums, Jeffrey Thibeau on guitar/vocals and Greg Mitchell on bass/vocals, Oliver Brighton is a strong participant in the evolving club scene in Maine. Mitchell and Thibeau, both seasoned club performers, offer a force of professionalism and style that has brought the band to new musical heights. Yet, the clubs and bars are only one facet of what the band does.
In 1996, Oliver Brighton released their first CD titled 'Under The Avalanche'. Crossman is the only current member of the band who appeared on the debut album. 18 months later, Jeff Crossman, Jeff Thibeau and Billy Andrews formed together to write and produce the second Brighton venture, the CD 'After The Fall'. This CD set the pace for Brighton. Setting the bar for what would be the minimum standard for an Oliver Brighton recording. After Andrews' departure from the band in the Spring of 1999 the band sought the experience and talent of Greg Mitchell to take over the bass duties for the band. Along with his talented bass playing, Greg brought two other important features to the band... song writing experience and strong vocals.
What's next for Oliver Brighton? The band plans to produce their third album in the summer of 2000. This promises to be an exciting time for the boys of Brighton. New Blood, experience and desire to create good records is their fuel.
