North40 had its humble beginning in March of 1999 when Keyboardist/Songwriter David Sayer solicited the help of long-time friend and church buddy, Singer/Bass Player, Mike Powell to start a band with the vision not only to have fun playing music but to also develop true friendships with concert goers and club patrons. 'I desire for us to be accessible to the real world', says Sayer. 'I want to have an excellent show and really top-notch music, but I also want to leave people with the fact they just made a new friend ~ several new friends in North40.'

With a strong commitment to Christian and family values, David, Mike and Mike's wife, Utility Keyboardist, Dawn Powell began singing and playing together as they sought other musicians with similar interests and goals. In April, Davy Patten Joined North40 as the Acoustic and Rhythm guitar player. Davy brings a level of stability and maturity to the band and is an accomplished musician.

In August, North40 was honored to be joined by Josh Vannice. With his excellent musicianship on the drums and his easygoing nature, Josh dug right in and gave North40 the solid beat it needed for the extremely challenging music the band decided to tackle. North40 is privilaged to welcome Gil Pettegrew ~ NEW Lead Guitarist for the band. Gil's personality is a great asset to the band and his playing ability is second to none!
