Nick Dastardly and the Escape Artists got together in 1996. The DC based quartet has since released
the award winning album 'Let go of my Bruised Wing'. A song from that album - 'the past is an addiction'
appeared in the 2000 Columbia/Tristar movie 'A Better way to Die' starring Lou Diamond Phillips
and Natasha Henstridge. The bands music has also made it's way to MTV's 'Undressed', 'Making the video',
Disney's 'Z-games', and the GQ awards on CBS prime time.
The new album 'The Circus is in Town' is due for release around February 2002. Meanwhile the band
continue to tour the east coast building the machine. ND recently completed three shows in sunny
Los Angeles while mixing the new songs in our Malibu studio(it's a family thing). The schedule may
lighten up a bit over the winter, but look for a blitz when the album is out. These guy are relentless, and
so is their van.
The clowns that make up the band are - singer, songwriter, guitarist Scott Miller, guitarist Carlos Castro,
bassist Bruce Boykin, and drummer Ira Miller. The bands live shows are loose (in a good way), and
energetic. Although maintaining song structure is pretty important to them, jams from out of nowhere
can be expected on any given night. There skills honed razor sharp from the many, many long nights as
'the bar band'. Scott Miller sings with SOUL, like he means it.
Nick Dastardly currently tours from NY to NC and everywhere in between. They have opened for such
national acts as Steve Miller, George Thorogood, Pete Droge, and DC talk to name a few. Get on the web
