The Ohio based band is 'quickly becoming one of the Country's hottest new blues acts, as stated in Big City Blues Magazine.
Featuring guitarist Nerak Patterson, the band blend different styles of blues with touches of rock, jazz and gospel.
Fresh off standing ovations from sold-out crowds as the opener for Kenny Wayne Shepherd last summer, the band began their summer tour. The group has shared the stage with various artists ranging from living legend John Hammond, Henry Butler, and Corey Harris, to Guy Davis, one of today's promising young acoustic bluesmen who appeared on the band's first album. (Hot sauce N Blues) The Nerak Roth Patterson Band (NRPB) dazzled the crowds at Bluestock 2000 on historical Beale Street in Memphis with an energized, frenzy driven performance.
The band, which includes Patterson, vocalist Dano Grimes, bassist Greg Calvert, drummer Chip Murdock and Michael Freeman on keyboards, will continue touring throughout the country.
Blues Revue Magazine called the band's first CD Hot Sauce N Blues, ' a set full of fresh sounds.' Labeling Patterson's solos 'blistering B.B. King, Jeff Beck, and Carlos Santana inspired licks.' Recorded live, Patterson's duet with Alligator recording artist Michael Hill brought down the house!
Louisiana native Freddie Wall, a former sideman guitarist for Blues Greats Lightnin Hopkins and Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown, produced the band's latest recording, Back In The Day. Vintage Guitar Magazine gave Back In The Day rave reviews, calling Patterson a 'Youthful sounding B.B. King with a bit more rigid edge.' The May 2001 issue of Blues Revue calls the album 'strong blues,' saying Patterson is 'clearly a latter-period B.B. King disciple, with great tone and phrasing.' The album stems much deeper than the music itself. It is a personal testament from the band and bears the souls of men who have truly experienced the blues.
