Myopic Son was formed in January of 2000. Four musicians striving to bring melodic, high intensity, energy driven rock to their fans. Each member has grown and matured from past projects, bringing to Myopic Son an intelligent, soulful, and distinguished sound. Pulling no punches, they’re delivering their own hard rock straight to you from the heart as well as the mind.
Myopic Son consists of Nik Alexander on lead vocals, Kevin ‘Kosty’ Kosterman on guitar, Jeff Ritter on bass and backing vocals, and Spencer Smith on drums. These four individuals combine their diverse backgrounds, musical training, former music projects, unique tastes of sound, and age range (22-27) to create the tones, sounds, and aura of Myopic Son.
The year 2001 has proved to be an extremely successful year for Myopic Son. In the last 12 months, the band has played with such national acts as Megadeth, Kittie, American Head Charge, Chamaira, Hair of the Dog, Flaw, ill nino, Full Devil Jacket, and No One. The singles 'Hazel' and 'Lesion' also emjoy regular rotation on radio stations such as The Razor 94.7, Green Bay and WAPL The Rockin' Apple in Appleton.
The future of Myopic Son sees the band playing larger venues with more national acts, and increasing their fansbase across the Midwest United States.
