Monobrau was formed in July of 1998 in Boulder, CO The three bandmates all work at the same day job making salt and pepper shakers and lacrosse jerseys. It was this harsh enviornment that made the three band members draw straws to see which instruments they would play. Jason H. chose the longest straw and picked the duties of guitar/lead vocals. Patrick J. is Bass/vocals, and Mike M. is the Dynamic Drummer. 'Music is our only way out of this God-foresaken place' said drummer Mike M. Allthough the band has not been together for a long time, Mike, Pat, and Jason have all played in their fair share of bands, thus providing a soild cornerstone in the foundation of the 'Twisted Funk/Rock with Soul' that IS Monobrau.

In Dec. of 1998 the band auditioned for a 'Battle Of the Bands' and Monobrau was not only placed in the battle, but was offered their 'First Gig' on New Years Eve and New Years Day at the same club. Five nights later Monobrau won their night in a weekly 'Battle Of the Bands' and advanced themselves into the semi-finals in May of 1999. That same night Monobrau was asked to open up for local favorites 'Brethren Fast' for a show in Febuary. Not a bad week to start off as a new band. The show was a succsess and after Brethren Fast saw Monobrau dedicate the 'Dukes Of Hazzard' theme song to them, Monobrau was asked to open a show for them at Denver's legendary night club 'Herman's Hideaway' on St. Patricks Day.

What does the future hold for Monobrau? 1. Playing out live to introduce the music to as many people as possible. 2. Taking the Monobrau sound out of Colorado to other music mecas such as Lawrence, KS, Austin,TX just to name a few. 3. Monobrau will be going into the studio to record a full-length CD in May. So keep your eyes open and your ears peeled.
