Molly and Sonny Boy decided to become a duo in 2005 when they realized that together they were a dynamite duo as singer-songwriters and performers. Audiences have warmed up to their free and sensational songs, and sounds. Molly and Sonny Boy love to interact with audiences and even encourage them to sing along on the cover songs they know and love. Nevertheless, the original Molly and Sonny Boy songs are also catching on with great lyrics and delicious sounding melody lines, and memorable hooks.
Sonny Boy is the backbone of the band with his great guitar and rhythmic talents. Molly sings and plays mandolin. Together Molly and Sonny Boy juggle a variety of instruments in a show from banjo, to blues harp. They keep audiences on their toes with their eclectic blend of instruments and energizing sounds.
In 2006 what was once the duo known formerly as Triebenbach and Zents became Molly and Sonny Boy.Since the name change the band has been going full speed ahead. In March they played the a-list venue McGoff's Irish pub in Mankato and continue to entertain wherever they travel to.
Molly and Sonny Boy are delighted to perform at large festivals, but mostly enjoy the intimacy of smaller spaces where they can connect more closely to their rapt audiences.
