We are from Chapel Hill, and disgustingly legitimate. We're on the indie-rock/prep-core tip. Yeah. Here's the deal: Three of us, Rich, Elliot and Robert, all went to Durham Academy, a small and idyllic prep school in Durham North Carolina. That is where we met, as well as where we found the inspiration for our earlier material. Private school girls, if you don't know, can be the absolute most frustrating people in the world to deal with, and also the easiest to fall super-hard for. This band began because we wanted to use that sad reality against itself; in essence, let these bad but true experiences turn into something good. And moreover, we all could not possibly like music more, or like to play it more, so this band is the perfect thing. We've been together for a year and a half.
But about three months ago, we started to feel a little uninspired about the band, and that was never part of the plan. We were sounding too thin as a three piece, and we wanted to go stellar style in a serious way. Another band, Disconnected from Raleigh, NC, had recently broken up due to a pain in the ass drummer, and we knew their guitar player was top notch as well as incredibly chill. When we asked Mr. Steve Backus to play with us, he gave the smart and collected rock star answer: 'Let's try it and see if it works out.' Needless to say, at practice we got along well, and the rest is Mistory. Wow, that was incredibly lame. I think I'll leave it in anyway. It's more punk rock that way.
So, Elliot plays the bass guitar and sings, Rich plays the guitar and sings, Robert plays the drums and doesn't sing, and Steve plays the guitar and doesn't sing. Our shows are fun and cheap so put your rocking shoes on and come see us!
