Misconceived formed in early 2004 when drummer Chappo met guitarist Butch Snyder, both were set on making it in the music industry and were strengthened on that path by guitarist Dan LaFramboise and singer Jon Smiddy. The four recorded a Demo in November of the same year and soon after filled out their lineup with bass player Ken Nease. After missing shows and practices ken was booted and third guitarist Richie Ramos was brought in as well as new bass player James downing. The six began to make a name for themselves as intense and relentless players and promoters. Known for their willingness to just play in front of people they have been hired on to play everywhere from church battle of the bands (definitely didn't fit in but still won) to up and coming Katrina relief concerts.

Misconceived is made up of: Drummer 'Chappo the Black', Rhythm/lead guitarist Butch Snyder, Rhythm/lead guitarist Dan LaFramboise, Rhythm/lead guitarist Richie Ramos, Bassist James Downing, and topped off by Singer Jon Smiddy. The group has created a unique sound with three guitar players that is separated enough so that they are not all playing the same thing and blended enough to not sound cluttered. And with the deeply moving vocals of Jon Smiddy and power of drummer Chappo and bass player James Downing they have begun to set the bar for musicianship in local bands.

In the last year, Misconceived has grown more mature and more relentless in their playing style. Known throughout Lenawee county and as far away as CA, they have done nothing but move forward without looking back. After suffering through a hard stint in the studio they took a needed break from gigging and went straight back into full-time practice mode, now anticipating their comeback (after 2-months off of shows)at the Rock to the Rescue show at the Wooden Nickel, to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They will be playing with the ever popular Detroit based band Pillow Block and are also looking forward to tapping into Detroit and Toledo very soon during pending shows. They have already placed behind them a show at the Glass room, as well conquering battle of the bands on numerous occasions to raise money for their first full length CD as well as other promotional tools. Misconceived will continue on breaking down doors and extending boundaries for musicians yet to come, with their deep seated vocals and focus on skill in music instead of just speed and volume.
