Within the last year, Metaphysical Jones has established itself a certain noteriety amongst a growing sub-culture of open minded music fans. Appearances on WDET 101.9 FM Public Radio,The Metro Times,Jam Rag and Real Detroit Weekly have acknowledged what MJ fans have known since our beginning in the spring of 2000. MJ has invented a new style of improvisational jazz inspired rock, with a variation on themes which have a truly unique sound. Through prior projects and past influence, the four musicians managed to gel into the entity known as Metaphysical Jones. MJ is :Brett Dodson, Bass guitar and vocals; David Gullo, guitar and vocals; Michael Medvisky, drums, percussion and vocals; Stephen Roginson, guitar, harmonica and vocals.

Metaphysical Jones performs a wide range of original material, as well as a fine mix of eclectic covers. The environment at a Jones show reflects a mutual respect between the band and all who watch and listen. Stage antics, and occasional special guest appearances from our Detroit local scene has come to be a MJ standard. Venue management, and staff alike are always pleased with the environment fostered by MJ and fans. Promotion is another aspect that Metaphysical Jones takes very seriously. Every date that is booked is publicized by full color hand bills and posters. Fans have come to recognize our vivid and colorful designs that are presented as a direct reflection of the band. With our first, self-crafted release, Metaphysical Jones Vol.I, a multi-media presentation has been included to inform you of what MJ is all about. Metaphysical Jones travels with a state of the art sound reinforcement system, digital recording unit, and a full light show that helps capture the live experience. All recordings are produced by Kurtis 'Catnip' Katzenmeyer. Keep your eye out for floating bootlegs...and your ears too. Peace :)
