A four-piece roots rock and pop band from New York
City with a rare blend of power, melody and soul.
Joe Mannix (lead singer and songwriter for Oral
Groove) decided to form his own project with the
help of his long time friend and Drummer / singer
Chris Peck. With the Break up of Oral Groove,
Joe and Chris hit the studio and started recording
all new material for an upcoming release. The
written musical body had now changed a bit from
the Oral Groove days. Mannix was now writing more
diverse rootsy based songs which still included
that Everlyish blend of Peck and Mannix. The new
material sounds more 'American'. If that's
possible, You can hear influences of Springsteen,
Grant Hart, Nick Lowe and Buddy Holly. Yeah, you
still hear the Beatles and the Beach Boys.
Joe and Chris incorporated veteran rocker Kristin
Pinell (lead guitar) and Michael Nattboy (Bass)
into the band in the beginning of the winter of
1998. Since that time, the full band has been
showcasing the new material in New York City.
This new rock unit displays a rare blend of power,
melody and soul. Mannix's songs take on new
meaning and vision when Peck, Pinell and Nattboy
are behind the beat.
