Makkafroi was formed by Monticello Van Odom and Brandon Moses in the late 90's. Having gone through many line-ups, Makkafroi has finally recorded and self-produced their debut LP 'Priscilla's Cowboy Suit' in the Fall of 2002, to be released early in 2003.

The current line-up enlisted the assitance of Chad Krueger (co-founder of Detroit Jam Band legends 'Park: A Rock Band') on keyboards. Monty and Brandon also recruited Scott Stone and Rob Kelly of 'Gypsy Dog' to record drums and lead guitar on the album.

The quintet has been playing around Detroit in support of the new album, building a quite loyal following in the process. Unlike other 'jam' bands. Makkafroi focuses more on individual songs rather than long wandering jams, but has been known to 'go off the page' more frequently as of late.
