Created in the spring of 2004, Mad Science Fair is the brain child of singer/guitarist Mike Clayton, ex-frontman of the legendary Champaign band Hot Glue Gun. In an industry dominated by riff bands, MSF is a refreshing change, relying on old school song writing to make their case. They mix lush vocal melodies with rich power pop creating a vast, hypnotic sound.Dave Domal, who has drummed with Minneapolis notables Paul Hiraga (ex-Breaking Circus / The Minges) and Lori Wray (ex-27 Various / Jayhawks), and bassist Jim Mefford (formerly of Champaign-Urbana cult favorites Fidget Brick / AD/HD) add a seamless rhythm section. After honing their craft locally, the band plans to hit the road this fall to support their upcoming CD release on MUDRecords, to be distributed by Parasol.
