The Mark Watson Band is led by singer-songwriter Mark Watson. Mark has been leading original guitar pop/rock bands since high school with the band Pursuit that had major label interest. The first release was in 1995 called riding the big grey beast featuring some of Chicago's best studio players. The EP generated rave reviews in the local press.
For the new full length release, Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda, Mark formed a new band featuring Dave Wilk on drums and Mark Konzen on Bass. Mark pushed the melodic guitar, bass and drums through 14 great tracks of big hooks, soaring harmonies and smart ironic lyrics about life's up and downs. The release has received great press in the sun-times, Amplifier magazine, Not Lame Records and the band has played with The Fixx, Ike Reilly(Universal) and was a finalist in the Lucky Strike Band to Band national contest.
For 2001, the band has expanded into a four-piece. The addition of Casey Mcdonough on bass and Todd Jones on rhythm guitar has made the sound even more energetic and their vocal harmonies have made the Mark Watson Band one of the premier power pop rock bands in the Chicago area.
