Magi was formed in 1991 by brothers Frank and John Taylor and singer Jim Orlando. The fourth original member is no longer with the band. Drummer Scott Hetherington joined Magi in 1999.

The music is heavy and aggressive but with strong melody and time changes. Magi released their self-titled debut album in June of 2001 and will be touring in Ohio and the Midwest.

Columbus, Ohio is the band's headquarters but they are all originally from Steubenville, Ohio.
