Founders Ruth Acuff and Jeff Mueller have been playing together from 2003 and formed Lux in 2004. Lux was originally an acoustic group. However the songs hint at a bigger and more dramatic sound, so Ruth and Jeff added drummer Jason Cook and plugged in their guitars. Now trumpeteer Eddie Watson has joined in and the soundscape has become cinematic and grand.

The group spreads its instruments as different interplaying layers and then tightens into heavy riffs and hits, framing songs about life and the various lessons learned while living. Their songs are both autobiographical and fictional.

Lux has shared the stage with Bockman's Euphio, Joe Stickley's Blueprint, Mile 48, Two Gallants, Javier Mendoza Band, Make Out!, and members from Nova Lunacy and The Passion. Lux is currently working on their first album (their acoustic roots can be heard on their website) and are planning a tour for summer 2005.
