The ska punk sound that the Furios started out playing quickly bored the band members. But a recent infusion of latin flavour into the band-now,appropriateley, called los Furios - is making for a fresh sound, an enthusiastic following and a very long stage show.... it's usually late and blurry when los furios take the stage.the crowd is drunk and weaving and thirsty for the rhythm robust enough to get the blood pumping through their distressed livers.

The band members , all of whom sing and contribute to the songwriting process, write with their audience in mind, ditching the two-tone, suit- wearing, 2/4-beat ska rulebook and playing what they think will keep listeners engaged. the ambitions they hold for their current ep and fourthcoming album have little to do with commercial radio play and a lot to do with creating an enduring grassroots following.

los Furios have a real appreciation for their growing candre of loyal fans. The atmosphere of unity they foster between themselves and their audience stays true to their good-hearted, democratic politics they tout in their lyrics. If they have a good crowd-and they almost always do-los Furios can draw upon that energy to pull off the superhuman feats needed to continue playing for up to 4 straight hours. And after those long sets, there they are, in amongst the sweaty throng, fingers aching and throats raw, patting backs and handing out stickers.

A good live show , like a fine piece of music, makes you remember why your alive. There aren't a lot of bands that can pull this off as well as los Furios, though particularly in their hometown of Vancouver , where show-goers tend to hang out at the back of the room with their elbows on the bar. Los furios' blend of ska, reggae, latin sounds and catchy so cal punk makes for a live performance that captures an audience's attention in a way that a single genre band may have to employ acrobatics and pyrotechnics to accomplish. los Furios, to be sure, are more than just another ska band.
