LITTLE NEAL & THE BLUE FLAMES were originally formed at the end of 1997, when former members of NIGHTSURF started a studio project with Ike and Axel from IKE & THE CAPERS under the name of LITTLE NEAL & HIS NIGHTSURF.
The first recordings by this line-up can be found on the Rough Rockin‘-Vol. 1 compilation 1O“-LP, which was released in April 1998 on Favourite Records.
Ike and Axel Iater left the band to concentrate on their other bands. They were replaced by Maurice (also ex-CAPERS) and Alexander, who joined the band in late ‘98, to form a real band - no longer just a studio project. They recorded 4 new songs, 2 of which appeared on Rough Rockin‘-Vol. 2, and including “Now lt‘s Done“, the first and only self-penned number released under the name of LITTLE NEAL & HIS NIGHTSURF. In their new line-up they‘ve played a lot of successful gigs all over Germany, becoming more and more perfect over time. At the end of 1999 they changed their name to LITTLE NEAL & THE BLUE FLAMES, in order to differentiate themselves from the old studio project and to reflect their now more 50s orientated sound.
In the late spring of this year they went back to the studio to record some brand new songs for their long awaited first EP - now it‘s done and the result is just great! Closer to the 50s style than ever before, you‘ll find 4 varied, excellently executed hot rockin‘ tracks - rockabilly / rock‘n‘roll at its best - including 3 self-penned numbers. The whole thing on good ol‘ 45 rpm - what else could you ask for? Put it an your turntable, crank up the volume really high and jump, cat, jump - this is the night!
