Little Hercules is recognized as one of the nation’s top unsigned original acts and is currently receiving global attention as their new release “Little Hercules” is being showcased at the popKOMM Festival in Berlin, Germany this Fall. An energetic touring schedule including throughout the United States, and a large catalog of original material, has brought Little Hercules attention from some or the music industry’s finest talent. Little Hercules’ original funk-rock and groove sound is unlike any other.
When Little Hercules is on stage their sonic expressions add to any top bill. Little Hercules has toured with Chicago’s Grammy nominee Liquid Soul five years straight. The vibe of Little Hercules’ Funk could not be denied when Leo Nocentelli, founding member of the legendary Meters, and Life Time Achievement Grammy winner, asked the band to back him for a 2002 tour and again in 2004, during Jazz Fest in his hometown of New Orleans, LA. The respect continues to grow for Little Hercules. In 2004 alone Little Hercules has performed the Greyboy All-Stars, Soulive, The Radiators, Leo Nocentelli, Bo Diddley, Stockholm Syndrome, PNut Daniels and Liquid Soul. Years of hard work and new musical friendships culminated in 2003 when June Yamagishi, of Papa Grows Funk, the original Liquid Soul horn section, Leo Nocentelli and DJ AJAX all recorded with Little Hercules on their self titled CD “Little Hercules”, released July 2003. “People are excited to see Little Hercules play because of their strong reputation throughout the Rocky Mountain”, says Knotty Pine owner Brice Nelson. Invitations to club dates during the New Orleans Jazz Fest has helped generate both an underground buzz on the band but has also exposed to the band to many musicians who have taken an interest in Little Hercules for future projects. The legendary Bo Diddley says, “everyone in Little Hercules can be heard, this is an important factor in a great band. A bright future is waiting for Little Hercules.”
