In the spring of 2003, I got tired of trying to find random musicians in the Austin Chronicle, so I decided I’ll start my own band with my best riends.Problem was, none of my friends could play an instrument. So I bought a drum kit, learned some beats, then taught my buddy Adam how to play. Adam had already tried singing and playing the bass, but we found out he was tone deaf and had stubby fingers. With the bass that Adam had bought I taught my buddy Cody how to play. Adam suggested that I learnto sing as each member grew in their particular craft. It took a while to get things going, but it was well worth the wait.
We wanted to play music that represented how we felt and express certain moods of youthfulness, attitude, and joy. On top of that we wanted to play fast because it was really fun and we made sure not to write about girls because there are more important things we wanted to say. Plus, there are too many songs about girls out there.
