Les Lewellyn has been performing in the Houston area as a solo performer for the past year. Recently he has put the band together and they are currently working on perfecting their sound. It's heavier than Les' solo work and is more like the music on the Preying Lizard Records release 'Bare Bones'. Their first gig is October 17th in Houston at Ronnie's Ice House.

Les Lewellyn Band consists of Les Lewellyn-guitar, lead and rhythm, Lead Vocals.....Mike Mathews-Drums...Steve Saunders-Bass Guitar...Rich Lyons-Keyboards and guitar.

Les Lewellyn writes the material and the subject matter is life in general and looking at it from a lower middle class perspective. He incorporates real life experience into his well thought out songs. The band provides the energy that is needed to convey the music and leaves space for Les to explore his Fender Strat. Les' lead playing is often described as being 'Texas great like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Ian Moore'. Local press has praised the 'Bare Bones' cd and college radio has picked up 'Cold Spirit Rising' as the song to play.

It won't be long before the band is touring Texas. We are polishing up our act and in the meantime Les is playing out as a solo artist two to three times a week. He also is working on the production of the Unknown Locals upcoming release and has two more production projects scheduled in the near future. Les sees Houston as the next big city to produce a string of hot artists much like Seattle accomplished in the early nineties.
