LIFT is Andy Gilmore and Doug Hoyt, both on vocals and guitars, Mark McCall on bass, and our new drummer Steve Severance. Andy and Doug started in 1996 as an acoustic duo (Gilmore & Hoyt) and still play as such when the band isn't busy.

LIFT is rich with two-part harmonies and energetic musicianship. Our songs have a well-defined smoothness while maintaining an earthy, gritty alt-country style.

We play bars mostly right now and have to use cover material, but we work in as much original music as we can. When our cd is done (we expect by September 2000) we want to play more festivals and venues where we can focus entirely on our own tunes.
