JohnStone is a five-piece roots reggae band from the D.C. area, about to release their new CD 'Eyes Open' which features original roots-influenced reggae music. In over three years performing together, JohnStone has assembled an arsenal of crucial roots-influenced original compositions, complemented by tasteful covers saluting their favorite 70s-era reggae artists.

Winner of several DC Reggae Music Awards and nominee for best reggae band in the annual DC area WAMMIES two years in a row, JohnStone has appeared with Burning Spear, Toots & The Maytals, Third World, Sister Carol, Yellowman and many others. JohnStone is looking to expand its geographic range to include new venues all over the East Coast and beyond (ideas welcome!). The band plays clubs, festivals, weddings, cruises, house parties and more.
