Jim Ricci and Adam Kroft create acoustic groove alchemy: tales for movin, chillin, lovin, and weepin.
Jim Ricci was born on Long Island, NY where his love for music began in the 5th grade band with the alto saxophone. After years of classical training Jim dove into the jazz realm, playing in groups in upstate New York, Boston, and London. Throughout this time Jim was introduced to jazz composition and songwriting. As a composer, Jim has written and co-produced the soundtrack for the independent film MacGuffin, which is available on CD. He has also written for and conducted the Tufts University Big Band.
Jim picked up an acoustic guitar a couple of years ago and hasn?t put it down since. Drawing from a love of all kinds of music from celtic to blues, jazz to folk, Jim has been crafting songs and roaming the Boston open mic scene with good friend and guitarist Adam Kroft. The two recently recorded a 5-song EP that takes the listener through 5 acoustic tales of lost love, blue-collar blues, and childhood innocence, to name a few.
