Jennifer Kravassi is far from being a stranger to the music industry. She grew up in a rural area outside of Baltimore, Maryland. At age five she began playing on a 1969 Yamaha twelve string guitar that was as tall as she was. Jen has mastered the fret board completely by ear and years of experience. She kids, calling herself 'musically illiterate and pleasantly dysfunctional.' Her sincerity and dedication have yielded a prosperous start, enabling her to turn her passions into a full time career over the past 17 years.
Her career first shuttled her to Nashville, Tennessee where she gained status as a studio session guitarist and accomplished songwriter. She joined hands with critically acclaimed CEO of Music Women International, Catherine Masters, and coordinated one of Music City's most prestigious music industry summits. Jen also got a chance to play at The Douglas Corner Cafe. Highlights of the show included an all-star jam with mega-platinum singer/songwriter Susan Gibson and her band.
She released her debut album titled 'Road Song' in May of 1999 and has independently sold over 40,000 copies to date. Her aggressive blues-rock and acoustic styles make her an up and coming icon. The first cut off the album 'Road Song' entitled 'Workin' Man' has already received attention and acclaim on the college circuit. This has led to radio interviews in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania, and helped create an avenue for playing larger college venues such as Penn State University - The Fish Bowl, Lock Haven University, University of Delaware, and others. Jennifer has also worked with Amnesty International, a favorite not-for-profit organization of hers.
In May of 1999, Jen was notified by THE LILITH FAIR that she had made the final cut, and would go on to perform in front of hundreds in a finalists competition at the renowned 9:30 CLUB in the nation's capitol. Jen was one of 20 finalists from over 250 applicants. She later performed as a third stage artist at both the Washington DC and Philadelphia shows. Since then, Jennifer has performed at numerous venues from Philadelphia to Key West including The Norva in Norfolk, VA. She has become involved with Rising Tide Productions as well as participated in countless radio interviews. Jen spent most of her time in 2004 writing songs for her new album 'Parallel Lines' on the waters of Key West. 'Time just seems different down there I could stare at those moments forever.' After much sweat and blood it seems all of the hard work has paid off.
