Jeff Fletcher currently is the lead singer/guitarist in Nearlife, a Birmingham based rock band.
Their first CD entitled 'Human' was released in early 2001 and they are currently working on a follow up to that record.
Jeff still plays the occasional solo acoustic gig showcasing his booming, gritty vocal style and potent, poignant lyrics. Fletcher, 34, has been playing in professional bands since the age of 19. He was born in Calhoun, GA in 1967. Upon moving to Atlanta in the early 90's he hooked up with the band Paris Working, one of Atlanta's entries into the grunge scene of that era. After that band folded in 1995, Fletcher released a solo CD in 1996 and toured the southeast in support of that record until finally landing, and sticking, in Birmingham in 1998. The band Nearlife formed in early 2000.
Nearlife can be seen at any of a number of venues throughout the southeast. Probably at a club near you sometime soon!
