Jakob's Night formed in 2001 and has been touring rigorously ever since, averaging 52 shows per year, while still holding down full-time jobs away from music. Their first, self-titled album was an effective tool for gigs and for sales, helping the band purchase more equipment and a van for touring. June 9, 2005 will see the release of their much-anticipated second album, entitled 'Epic Journey', recorded and produced by Dove Award winner, Barry Blair, formerly of Audio Adrenaline fame. Look for this album in stores across the country and on iTunes.
JN is proud of its musical and cultural diversity. Hailing from different parts of the country, JN's 6 members believe God brought them all together through curious events so they could spread the Gospel through music. Tim Nelson on drums, Jeremy Robinson on electric and acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, Randy Preston on vocals and classical guitar, Ben Johnson on acoustic and electric guitar and vocals, Lester Ortiz on vocals and electric guitar, and Wil McLean on bass. All these disparate characters create a sound that spans several genres.
One look at JN's 'shows' page on their website reveals their commitment to touring as much as possible. JN has opened for The Katinas, and most recently Nate Sallie. They consistently play Christian Coffeehouses, Churches, Festivals, Youth group retreats, Summer camps, and anywhere else the Lord leads them.
If you're in need of a powerful rock band, with heartfelt, relevent lyrics, and a passion for ministry, look no further.
