Mix the soul of Kravitz with the rhythm of the Chili Peppers and the energy of Garbage and what do you get? Four musicians from Detroit who love funk and rock ('funk & roll').
Formed in May of 2000 from bits and pieces of Detroit bands Nailing Betty and Pharmacy (Tom Libertiny and Chip Thomas), west coast drummer (Todd Laucombe), and one Detroit soul singer (Brent McKay). With the departure of Chip Thomas and Brent McKay, an old fashioned ad in the Detroit Metrotimes brought us the globetrotting rock funkster: Chris Mick on guitars and sweet soul singer Carrie Firth. Four writers, four musicians, and one agenda: Write original songs and funk the rock with an attitude like no one has since the prime days of George Clinton, Zeppelin, and Grace Slick.
The first post-internet band that is able to go toe-to-toe with everything considered great about the hard rockin late '60's and early '70's bands. Not even remotely content to sit at home and post computer contrived songs to the web, these musicians live, write, record, and play the hard-way.
Welcome to the web age. Download our music and then come on out and hear it the Detroit way.
