JOE McCARTHY'S GHOST was formed in Feb.2001 from the ashes of the experimental gothic punk band Birth-Fire Becoming (who did the soundtrack for the award-winning 2000 indie film RAT BASTARD, which was directed by two-time Emmy-winning director, Mike Stivala.) BFB, who started as a nine-piece group, dwindled down to its three original members who decided a name change was in order. Thus JMG was set loose upon the world in order to cause industrial punk panic among the cattle-bred.follow-the-leader types who so rudely over-populate the Earth. JMG blur the distinctions between 'Real' and 'Digital' with live tribal Percussions/Drums, Bass, Keys/Midi, and scorching guitar(We DO play solos) all filtered through the rage of an Ex-abused wife who's hatred knows no bounds. Politically satirical industrial punk metal at it's most unique. JMG's live shows are best described as 'Catharsis Ex Machina' Let it rip M^##@R-F*&^%R!!

Teena Idol is the bands figurehead with her socio-polically charged lyrics, many of which deal with her own abusive childhood and first-marriage, as well as her arsenal of Digital Toys which she uses as a weapon against corporate sponsored mediocrity. D.Raper is the guitarist as well as the head songwriter. D.Raper has toured with many bands over the past 22 years, including Psycho Nurse, who opened for the Ramones on several dates in '91' He is also a professional actor(he has a leading role in RAT BASTARD), producer, sound & Light tech. etc. Slug has played bass with D.Raper in three previous bands, most notably, Bela's Fix, who opened for The Misfits, Marky Ramone And The Intruders, and the Queers, to name a few. Mantis is the driving pulse behind the industrial slam. He wears a mask onstage because he's wanted by the police in seven states. Such a naughty boy.

After playing EVERYWERE in 2001, the band took time to record their first release, 'Freedom And The American Scream', which is nearing completion. There is enough material to press two CD's and the band might just do that. Disc one would be called 'Freedom' and disc two would be 'The American Scream'. They would be sold seperately or together(For a special two CD price. The band is itching to get back out and play--IT'S BEEN TOO DAMN LONG!!! We need our cartharsis therapy NOW!!
