JAD
Band Biography

  • From: Atlanta, GA
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 2000

'one of the best live bands in the Southeast…period' - Southern Jam Online, July '04. This seasoned and devoted group of musicians have spent years developing their skills while gaining professional experience in other projects before coming together to form the driven and melodic Rock sounds of JâD (pronounced jade).

In a relatively short period of time, JaD (John Stringer, James Beale, Chris Love and Thomas Panza) has taken the Southeast music scene by storm: winning WKLS Atlanta (96 Rock)'s Best Unsigned Band in Atlanta contest (which provided them the opportunity to play the main stage at Atlanta's '02 Music Midtown); winning the regional competition for Cabo Wabo's 2003 Battle of the Bands (top 25 unsigned bands in the US - www.cabowabo.com); finalist in the Jim Beam/Rolling Rock Battle of the Bands; 4 live appearances on 96 Rock's morning show; selling 2K+ copies of their debut full-length CD 'Lose Your Mind'; and performing 100+ live dates across the Southeast and East Coast. The band is continually building upon its growing fan base and has crafted one of the most powerful live shows in the South.

Described by Kings of A&R.com as '“powerful, yet soulful modern rock/alternative that sounds like a cross between Sevendust, Fuel, 3 Doors Down and Saliva” and by Atlanta's PRICK Magazine (www.prickmag.com) as a mix between 'STP, Living Colour, Pearl Jam and Sevendust,' JaD's music combines driving guitars, soulful vocals, and syncopated bass and drums. The band gained the attention of Atlanta veteran producers Rick Beato (Shinedown, The Working Title, Flickerstick, Endo) and Don McCollister (Sister Hazel, Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins), who each recorded tracks for their follow-up EP 'more than coincidence'. Check out the band's website for additional information: http://www.jadtheband.com, and be sure to join the JaD family and support great music!
