Indian rose like a phoenix from the ashes of several Sligo bands back in '95. The lessons learned were hard, but the new vision was a shining beacon in the distance. The vision was stunningly simple - Serious Music you could Dance to.
In 1996 'Show me that Chihuahua Again' appeared, an album that fans thought was understated, but critics described as a welcome breath of fresh air. Two singles made the Irish charts, and everyone figured the big break was just around the corner. Then came the dreaded boy bands. The band decided to leave the scene to itself, but the fans just kept buying the album. To this day 'Chihuahua' still sells.
Musicians being what they are, the core of the band - Christy, Joe, & Martin, kept on writing and playing in the privacy of their homes, until fan pressure became too much and they were persuaded to go back to the studio and record another album.
Various synchronicities eventually produced the new album 'Blue Flowers' with a new direction and a new lead guitar man. Indian are truly back - Joe, Christy , Leon and Martin from the Old Days; and the new spice of Pat - one of the best guitarists the planet has ever seen. This is an essential album.
