Hipshack is an original Jazz-Funk-Jam band (Tenor Sax, B-3 Organ/Wurlitzer & Drums). From artists like Medeski Martin and Wood to James Brown to Galactic, these young, educated and talented musicians tightly incorporate a spectrum of styles to create the unique groove of Hipshack.
Hipshack has played a minimum of 30 venues monthly for the past year, mainly in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This band is definitely “the hardest working group in Charlotte”, according to Creative Loafing, performing over 250 times in the past twelve months, despite the lack of an agent or a manager, primarily booking by word of mouth. Hipshack’s most recent successes have been at the opener for Charlie Hunter and the showcase performance for the New York International Independent Film Festival at Madison Square Garden. Hipshack’s new studio CD, “File Under Funk”, is professional, marketable and already in distribution. Hipshack also has the new studio tracks as well as live MP3 tracks on its website, www.hipshack.com, MP3.com and at LikeTelevision.Com, where the band recently recorded a live Internet webcast.
Hipshack has two immediate goals: One, to broaden and expand its following, both regionally and nationally, through touring the college and university circuit via its affiliation with the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).
Two, to land a recording contract with a strong, dynamic record label that will assist in booking the band in the US and abroad, so that, very soon, Hipshack will achieve full potential and success. Thank you for listening.
