Founder, Matt Rosenberg, singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist in the band created Highway Road from the roots music scene and inspirational bands, but mainly because it was time for Matt to express his originality and unique songwriting capability. As a member of Uncle John’s Band for 2 years, a Grateful Dead cover band, he traveled throughout the Midwest playing gigs. His passion and capability for writing original music became his main focus over the past year as well as developing professionally as a musician.

That Untold Passageway', is the debut studio recording from Chicago's newest, distinct jam band! It is the vision and creation of rhythm guitarist and lead singer, Matt Rosenberg, along with band members that have toured with such greats as The JGB, Leftover Salmon, Cornmeal, Dark Star Orchestra and Uncle John's Band. These are just some of the influences that are apparent throughout the album.Highway Road's eclectic sound heard through songs in the first album, such as Strange Destiny, Billy Ray's Way, Bacon & Bread, In the Clutch, and Optimistic Feeling will only leave the listener wanting more.A jammy southern like tune, influenced by The Allman Brothers, Strange Destiny, definitely will get you dancing and singing along. You may find yourself thinking about your life on the Road and living with wonder and curiousity of times to come.Another one of the CD's highlights is the song, 'In the Clutch'. This song brings together the creative and innovative sounds and songwriting of the Grateful Dead along with Bob Dylan. It is a song of growing and finding yourself in the clutch, while moving forward and overcoming obstacles.A song like Bacon & Bread shows it's variety in sound by demonstrating a traditional blues tune that is heavily influenced by Robert Johnson, Bob Weir, Pistol Pete, Eric Clapton, and the Rolling Stones. B & B metaphorically about how a silver ball is able to bring home the bacon.Keep your eyes and ears out for other Highway Road sound recordings integrating bluegrass, acoustic ballads, pop music and progressive rock n roll.
