High Flyin Bird is a very unique band in that two of it's members have come from a long line of national acts that they have been on the road with. Percussionist was with Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Was Not Was, Indigo Girls, Matthew Sweet. Bassist was bassist for Iggy Pop and Patti Smith, fiddler is 18 year old national celtic fiddle champion in 2000 & 01' as well. Lead guitarist is a long time Grateful Dead fan and admirer of Graham Parsons. Multi talented mandolin, banjo and fiddle player has been on the folk circuit with numerous successful, label signed folk artists. And the female in this band is a 12 award winning singer/songwriter. Third guitarist in this band was signed to RCA records and played with Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise. Musically this band is UNBELIEVABLE.

Collectively there is over 140 years stage experience in this band. When O'Brother Where Art Thou, was released, High Flyin' Bird had already been out playing incorporating traditional music into their own. Once that album sold 4 million records with no air play, the phone started ringing off the wall for High Flyin' Bird. This band could pull off traditional music as if it was all they ever played, but combined with the jazz edged rock and folkadelics acoustic music, people were not only taking notice, they were flocking out to the festival shows that High Flyin' Bird was performing at.
