Honest, gripping music inspired by a slew of rock, folk, and R&B artists - and the music in her head - is what you can expect from this rising force in the local music scene.
Armed with an acoustic guitar, 25-year-old Laura DeLallo has made her way across the Tri-state area rousing crowds with her steady string play, passionate voice, and volumes of sophisticated yet catchy original tunes. Her lyrics weave expertly through accounts of love, sex, the daily grind, and politics, challenging and touching listeners who cannot help but relate.
After 5 years of going it alone, Laura has rounded up fellow Fairfield County artists John Eurell (lead guitar), Joe Sirico (bass) and Chris Calabrese (drums, percussion) to form her newest band, Hieroglyph, which is currently making its way around area clubs and festivals. The group has years of experience and a multitude of influences between them, which has helped to create an eclectic rock sound and resounding chemistry that makes for an incredible show.
DeLallo and Sirico played in 15 Leroy (a past life of Hieroglyph) together in 2000 and after several line-up changes, DeLallo reconstructed the band into what it is today. Eurell’s heavy jazz influence and Calibrese’s straight-up rock style have taken the band to a new creative level. Jazz, hard rock, and blues now surround DeLallo’s folk-rock core generating grooves that refuse to let you stay in your seat. Hieroglyph is not to be missed by lovers of all musical genres.
