During the late 90's, the four founding members--Bovard (guitar, backup vocals), Beemer (guitar, backup vocals), Eric (drums), Joe(bass)--of what is known today as Heroes For Ghosts began jamming together. With each member adding their own unique element to the design, in fall of 2002 the members decided to get serious and started writing and practicing. The search for the final element to this new musical 'idea' ended in November of 2003, when Kevin Northrup (formerly of Synoptic) came into the fold to complete the vocal portion of the music.
The 'idea' being the desire to create music and inspire its listeners in order to restore spirit to a degenerating music industry that's focus has become one of image and fast-cash. The mission of Heroes for Ghosts is to be just that, heroes for the great musical groups from the 70's; a time when bands explored every possibility and played for the pure joy of music. Recently, those values seemed to have faded away, like ghosts of the past. Heroes for Ghosts' intent is to resurrect musical integrity, with hope in restoring a seemingly ancient concept, the love of music. The name Heroes for Ghosts is derived from the Pink Floyd song 'Wish You Were Here'.
The only way to truly experience Heroes for Ghosts is to come check out a show. You'll get your body rocked and your mind blown.
