Hemphead are born from the cinders of grunge groups that used to play all around Como province. Già (Guitar) and Chicco (Bass) were friends since elementary school and started playing grunge together. Then Pedro (Drums) started playing in a grunge group called Indryia. When Indryia broke up Pedro started playing with Già and Chicco. While looking for a singer they picked up Savo (vocals ... well ... vocals ...) who still jumps all around the place wether they play in public or not.
Born as a cover-band, like many others, Hemphead started writing songs, when they had one (Freedom), they tried and record it in a three tracks demo with two Deftone's covers (Engine #9 and Headup). Strange enough, but Hemphead demo had a huge (huge for a local band) success, started playing on stages.
If you're looking for a heavy, pushing and pulling, crude but funny and funky band, check out Hemphead. When you see a guitar player with a green strato helded like Fieldy's bass, a tattooed pierced good looking bass player, a great and handsome drummer and something else bouncing on stage ... maybe you're stoned, but maybe you're watching a cool band called Hemphead.
The name came out from the only neuron of the singer(?), the only non-smokin' member of the band. Slaps come out from the fast hand of Chicco as silly things come out of the mouth of everyone when they're on stage.
