HawkinsRise began late 1999 in Rhode Island. Dan Simpson was keeping busy with some 4-track recordings of his private compositions and songs. Dan had secured himself quite a collection of original material and ideas.Joe Magnanti (aka Joey Mags) had recently excused himself from various projects he had been involved in. Mags, after performing in various bands was now in search of something new and fresh, or as he has put it; 'something as intoxicating as HawkinsRise'. The chance meeting earlier that year would spark the evolution of HawkinsRise. Dan and Mags who were friends in high school hadn't seen each other in years. It was at 4:00 in the morning when the two by chance happened to be online. They began chatting about music, direction, ideas, & Dan's recordings. Before the they knew it, they had found themselves at a local diner investing in a bottomless pot of coffee. Dan Simpson & Joe Magnanti reached the agreement on that fateful day to begin the search for a band. Their musical recipe was also founded that same day; 'Original Rock 'N' Roll pumped up with a pop flair, mixed with gorgeous vocal harmonies, creating music and melodies that will get stuck into a listeners' memory'.It was Dan and Magnanti's vision brought to life with the heart pounding drumming style of Joe Grasso. Grasso's solid drumming style continuously gives HawkinsRise its fierce and furious backbone. Later, Dan was able to recruit a talented and aspiring bass player named Chris Simpson. The two, who oddly enough were close cousins in their youth, had not seen each other in many years. At a family wedding Dan & Chris caught up on all their happenings and Chris disclosed he had taken up bass guitar. Chris was excited to join HawkinsRise and stands strong providing accurate and solid bass lines.The Band was now formed in its entirety and began working diligently to create their original sound with their captivating rock 'n roll freight train recipe. The music which has been compared to artists of the past is also served with the pop/rock feel of respected millennium artists and performers.HawkinsRise music as said by fans and media is catchy music played by a band that will not be 'pigeon holed'. When fans and media listen to HawkinsRise music or attend the live shows they will be hooked, seduced, & easily connected with HawkinsRise. HawkinsRise has secured regular Rhode Island & Massachusetts appearances & has been entertaining a faithful following since the beginning.
