Some people call it swamp pop. Others call it Texas boogie. It's the music where blues meets rock meets country. Music that makes you want to tap your feet, and then the energy takes over 'til you just have to dance. We call it Hard for the Money
Hard for the Money--a high-energy 4-piece dance band fronted by lead singer Kim Herndon, and including Chris Cunningham (guitar), Jason Keller (bass), and Jose Tarantino (drums).
Hard for the Money plays all different kinds of music, but specializes in rolling piano style rock & roll, country boogie tunes with a blues edge, old fashioned twists, '50s dance music and lots of line dances. But we play everything from swing to disco when the mood fits. Some of our most requested songs are Stevie Ray Vaughn's House is a Rockin', Carl Perkins' Born to Boogie, Jean Knight's Toot Toot, The Rolling Stones' Rt. 66, Marcia Griffith's Electric Slide, Joey Dee's Peppermint Twist and Janis Joplin's Bobby McGee. The band's set lists are designed to set the right mood and keep the party going all night long. We love our songlist and it really works. But we haven't seen another quite like it!
