Ground Score was formed in 2000 as a Phish cover band. After a couple line up changes and a year of practice the band was covering other bands including Ween, The Doors, Adam Sandler, The Rolling Stones, Los Lobos, and writing original music.The band is ever growing and changing and more focused on original music then ever before.
Ground Score consists of Tom Lienhardt on Guitar and Vocals, Johnathan Dugan on Bass & Vocals, Mike Katchmark on Keys, sounds, and vocals, Graham DePouw on percussion, and finally Robert Grunwald on Drums and vocals. Each person brings a different musical background including heavy metal, jazz, folk, pop, prog rock, rap, and jam rock. Through years of practice and playing out these influences have come together in the unique sound known as Ground Score.
2004 has been a big year for Ground Score. They released their first EP 'Bootleg'.Ground Score has also been playing out all over the Detroit area and gathering a local following. The band has started to gather a following on the internet by offering free downloads of their EP on their website. The guys have been working hard on their live sets and are currently writing tunes for a new album
