Glow Bead
Band Biography

  • From: Norman, OK
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 1992

Glowbead is a unique original sounding band. Its origins trace to 1997 with the strange mixture of electric guitar and clarionet. Shortly after, drums and a steel pan drum were added. As the band grew so did it's sound and instrumentation. The group has always focused on expressive music with a soul felt vibe. With a 4 player line up this band, communicates extremely well while letting open ended jams and improvs flow under their wings. If you like Jam Bands you will definately enjoy Glowbead. They really take you somewhere and its somewhere a litte different than you are used to.

The band consists of Jeremy Green on Drums, Vocals, and various percussion. Tanner Johnson on Marimba and djembe. Chris Tubbs on Bass and Vocals. John McElhaney on Guitars. Spencer Stanley is our soundman and Jay Vinekar as Booking Contact.

The band hailing from Norman Oklahoma finds itself playing around the local bars on campus at the University of Oklahoma. They played a spot at the BlueHawk benefit where they opened for Leon Russell as well as the Groove Fest for Aminesty International.

Glowbead has just released their first CD entitled 'Deep Field'. MP3 downloads can be found at their website www.glowbead.com.
