Formed in 1996 by former Party Akimbo rhythm section John Hage and Vernon Hawkins, Glassoline performs in premier Mid-Atlantic clubs and as an opening act for national artists. Glassoline has performed in festivals including: the Independent Music Festival in New York City, WAMA Crosstown Jam and Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and Lilith Fair '98.
In 1998, Glassoline released their self-titled CD which has garnered airplay on radio stations in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, and throughout Europe. In addition, Glassoline can be heard on MP3 format at websites in the U.S. and Japan having appeared on several top download charts which has captured the attention of both major and independent record labels. Glassoline appears on the IMF '97 and Women N Rock compilation CDs as well as two arthur loves plastic remix CDs.
Glassoline has been recognized by the College 500 and CMJ Weekly in addition to the Washington Post, MTV Online, Rockrgrl Magazine, Music Monthly, the Journal, and numerous regional, local, and online publications.
