Friends of Lizzy is a young, five-member pop rock band from Austin, Texas with an invigorating, lively sound.
Currently, FOL is promoting the release of their newest self financed and produced album, 'Where's Will Collins?' The disc containing 11 original songs and one cover has sold in excess of 700 copies with the assistance of word of mouth, a weekly spot, and occasional appearances larger-than-club venues and private parties. The new songs and FOL's up front and energetic live shows have eanred themeslves a loyal follwing among college and high school students. The constant gigging and large crowds have allowed FOL to become tighter and more interactive with the audience on stage.
The members of FOL, Adam, Brooks, Clay, Darrel, and Drew, experienced similar success with their musical release: a six-song disc of originals which earned the group notoriety among Austin area high schools selling in excess of 400 self produced copies. However, having lined up a music video shoot, in-store appearances, and working to expand a website through MP3.com, FOL hopes to demonstrate new direction that will allow them to get their other foot firmly in the door of the music industry.
Musically speaking, the members of FOL have more than twenty-seven combined years of musical training, ranging from drum corps to formal voice lessons, all of which is presently being used to create a fresh batch of songs. This seasoning, along with influences such as Jimmy Eat World, Guster, Third Eye Blind, Super Drag, Weezer, the Refreshments, Guns & Roses, Metallica, Elliott Smith, Ben Folds Five, and the Beatles, allows FOL to write mature, new songs that will soon be an integral part of their live show. Having written new material and mastered the 'Where's Will Collins?' songs live, FOL expects to work with music industry heavily to promote the album and their live shows.
