Freedom of Existence
Band Biography

  • From: Phoenix, AZ
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 1996

Freedom of Existence's debut album, 'Desensitize' was released February 29th 2004 via Optimism through Pessimism Records (OTP Records).Freedom of Existence believes in music for what it is. They love to play and they love to create. They don't use auto tuners on their album, or when they play live. They believe that music should stand for something, and definitely say something.

They comprehend that life is full of mistakes and perfection is futile. Yet, they deliver a perfection that is difficult to ascertain. 'Desensitize' has done rather well, and deserves every bit of attention it receives.

'Freedom of Existence brings to life forgotten ritualistic music. Frontman, Jeremy Gratton, sings his poetic lyrics in a rich, yet, angry baritone voice while pounding the strings of an acoustic guitar. Lead guitarist, Mike Tampa, plays distorted guitar riffs that leave little to be desired. He has won numerous guitar competitions and still somehow manages to find new and exciting ways to break the boundaries of technical/emotional guitar playing. It is difficult to find a rhythm section as gifted, versatile and dynamic as the likes of Drummer, Greg Foor and Bassist, Casey Kimes. Together, they create the band known as Freedom of Existence, and together they bring a new and refreshing originality to what seems to be an exhausting and ludicrous music scene. Freedom of Existence is exactly what we needed.' - Amanda Horne | Embryonic Press.

In loving Memory Of Greg Foor (1978-2004)Greg left us on April 22, 2004. It is very important to us that his memory live on through the music he played and loved. We know that he would want others to listen to the music, and we realize that he would want us to continue to play it. Greg, wherever you are, we love you, and will never forget the happiness that you brought into our lives.
