Frantic Chant formed at the tail end of the 20th century as a reaction to all the faceless bands failing to inspire us. We want to reach as many people as we can with our music and we believe we have the ingredients to do so. Our set ranges from the political, call to arms of 'New Breed' to the heartfelt plea of 'Take Me'. Musically, we are all pop fans at heart, so even our darkest, angriest songs still retain a strong sense of melody.
After only two full gigs in our hometown of Edinburgh, we managed to attract the attention of the press and radio. Also, we have recently played a gig as part of the T-Break contest. For those of you not in the know, T-Break is a competition for new bands in Scotland. The winners then get to play at the T In The Park festival in July. This years festival features such artists as Macy Gray, Iggy Pop, Travis and All Saints. Out of 800 entrants, 80 were picked to play around Scotland and out of that 80, 24 will then play at the festival. This is yet to be announced
Our plans for the near future include 2 weeks recording in the Scottish Borders, where we will self produce an albums worth of songs. After that we will then set about earning our stripes as a touring band.
We have two tracks recorded at the moment, both of which you can download for free from our web site.
