Floating Folk Band started out as a collection of mostly acoustic artists at the Main Street Grill in Richmond, VA. in 1997. As musicians were added, it became a floating pool of musicians backing various solo artists.

Floating Folk Band members include Meade Skelton, Pam McCarthy, Paul Magill, Brooke Saunders, Robby Charles, Scott Garner, and Bill Roberts. Others featured from time to time include Harry Gore, Chip Farnsworth, and others.

The Floating Folk have released 3 compilation CDs, and the various members many more. It's an unusual free-wheeling collective based on the spirit of the 60s

In the recent years, we started another version of the folk band called the Floating Rock Band, for the purpose of playing bigger shows, including the Irish Festival, the Watermelon Festival, the Canal Club, and others.
